Welcome! Thanks for visiting my website. I’m so excited to start this journey and take advantage of my blogging face lift. I have been dabbling in blogging since 2014, and after several attempts and names, I think I’ve got it. I say that each time, I know, and for a while, my previous name of "The Creatively Conscious" was a solid contender. However, I began to feel boxed in with the name. It felt like I had to produce something, create something, and everything had to in some way inspire creative living. After a time, it felt like I was saying the same thing. I became a broken record player, rather than running with inspiration.

Today, I’ve created a new website, and I’m not bringing ANYTHING over from the old website. This is quite literally, a fresh start. This is going to be a lifestyle blog full of travel, food and drink, fashion, home decor, and music and art. I’m eager to get started on this journey and I hope you join in!

Let me share a little with you about the new name. After writing my final post on The Creatively Conscious, I began to consider what was holding me back. Why was I feeling stuck, I realized it was in the name and my current approach to blogging. I felt this burden to write something that was inspirational, encouraging, and creative; it felt like I had to be an expert sharing my wisdom. That was far from the truth. In reality, I am just a woman who wanted to use creative writing as a means of stress relief. A means to explore and document those explorations. I started blogging when I was finishing up graduate school. I was buried by my homework, and the paperwork that came with being a case worker. I was drowning in professional writing, that I needed a way to breath.

That's what blogging was for me then, and what I want to get back to. Yes, I have learned a lot from the past five years, and I will carry that over. I said above that I'm not bringing anything over from the old website, and what I mean by that, is that I'm not copying and pasting the past blog posts over. I will be starting over. Some of the concepts will inevitably show up here and some posts will get a face scrub before I publish it on this page. The reason I say that, is because there were some very valuable posts that I shared in the recent past that I would like to incorporate to better share who I am and why I am doing what I do. I suppose it'll make more sense when you see them, but trust me when I say, I've turned a new leaf.

I'm so excited for this new venture. You can read more about this in the About Page, but here's a brief summary about the name Sunsets and Street Signs:

Sunsets and Street Signs, established on the 17th of June 2018, started with the goal to appreciate every day and find inspiration with any phase of life I enter. My focus is to find inspiration through what I already do on a daily basis and bring balance to my wanderlust heart by accepting where I am here and now, and being mindful of all the blessings I am surrounded by.

I created Sunsets and Street Signs to be a Lifestyle Blog, where I can share tips for living a minimalist life, create meals in the kitchen that bring family and friends to the table, find adventure in both the city and outdoors, experiment with photography, music and art, and share the real life struggles of style and fashion when I am a short, curvy, full-blooded Puerto Rican woman!

Here's to authenticity, exploration, experimentation, family, friends and fun!
